Car Insurance Hyundai (Car Insurance). buy from a dealer or craigslist?buy from a dealer or craigslist? This will be my first bike. I want a honda shadow 750. Should I buy it from a dealer or from craigslist? I can get it cheaper of CL, but I don't know much about bikes, so I could be getting a POS, but if I get it from a reputable dealer, I'll pay more but they'll make sure it's in good condition. Should I buy the cheaper bike and then make the repairs, or should I spend more and get the bike from the dealer? I'm a devoted private-sale fan. I can't stomach the prices that $tealerships charge for bikes. The key is to be prepared and know what you're getting into. For that, as someone new to motorcycles, you need to rely on Someone. So, if you want to buy from a private party, find a mechanic that you like/trust to do a PPI, PrePurchase Inspection. It normally costs an hour of labor ($60-ish) and will tell you pretty much everything you need to know about the bike, what's dangerous and Has to be fixed before riding, what will be needed soon, and how much work to expect. It's possible to find private-sale bikes that need nothing, that's how I sell bikes (but I'm a mechanic who flips bikes for extra money), though you'll most likely find one that will need tires, all fluids replaced, maybe brakes, a valve adjustment, carb clean, and general tune-up. Craigslist is better...but beware of the psychos on it. Make sure you take a couple of people with you. I remember a case where a person was going to buy a car off craiglist and they got murdered instead. I would rather buy from Craigslist. Just look the bike over good and take it for a test ride. If it is clean, polished, and it was taken care of cosmetically, you can almost bet it was mechanically. Honda Shadows are pretty much bullet proof, which is probably one of the reasons that you want one. If the motor sounds ok, you see no leaks and no bits are falling off it is most probably good to go. I would buy from CL and save some cash. The bike at the dealership could be in just as bad shape as a private sale and just cost a lot more. Be wary of buying a bike that the owners says needs work as that shows the owner has probably not maintained the bike properly for as long as he/she has owned it. Good luck. Beware of Craigslist or ANYWHERE that you cannot actually see and test ride the bike. The 750 Shadow is a GREAT bike!! Do yourself a favor and go to a dealer or if you do craigslist, be sure that you can check it out and bring an experienced bike owner with you. I have an admittedly biased answer for you... Take some one with you who has experience and knows their way round bikes. or you could buy wots known as a pig in a poke! Auto parts : Brake Hone Acura 1995 . Brake Hone Stone Set Alfa Romeo 1996 . I paid for my car but its in someone elses name? My boyfrinds car broke a little while ago. I was planning on buying a car because i needed to be able to ge tto work and school . We had a verbal agreement that i would buy the car and he could use it until he got his car back on the road. I was very nervous about this whole thing, and a little naive in auto matters. I essentially let him talk me into putting it in someone elses name to avoid high insurance costs. The car was never a gift and was meant to be given back. Hyundai . How to Replace the Fuel Filter on a 2006 F-150Replacing the fuel filter on your 2006 Ford F-150 pickup is a normal part of the routine maintenance schedule. Unfortunately, truck owners often overlook this key piece of the maintenance puzzle. Once the filter has reached its filtration capacity, it will either begin to plug, reducing fuel economy and engine performance or it will simply allow the contaminants to pass, fouling the fuel rail, fuel injectors and combustion chamber. Neither is a good option for anyone looking to take care of their automotive investment. Difficulty:Moderately Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Drop pan Pocket screwdriver New Filter Step by Step : 1 Place the drop pan on the ground below the driver's door. Climb underneath the truck and look on the inboard side of the driver's side frame to locate the fuel filter. The filter connects to the fuel lines, below the driver's seat area. 2 Move the drop pan directly underneath the fuel filter. 3 Pull the fuel line retaining clip out of the front fuel line, where the line meets the filter, using the tip of the pocket screwdriver. Use extreme caution when pulling the clip out as they break easily and you cannot replace them unless you purchase the entire fuel line. 4 Repeat step three on the rear fuel line. Pull the fuel lines away from the filter by hand when done. 5 Pull the fuel filter out of the filter retaining strap by hand and place it in the drop pan. Insert the new filter into the retaining strap, making sure the flow arrow on the filter points towards the engine. 6 Put the front and rear fuel lines on the outlet and inlet of the new fuel filter and carefully push the retaining clips down into their seats until they click into place. 7 Turn the ignition key to the run position and wait ten seconds. Turn the key back to the off position and then to the run position once more for ten seconds before starting the truck. Tips & Warnings Avoid spilling any gasoline on asphalt as the gasoline will eat away at the oils in the asphalt and create a hole in the surface. Never work on a fuel system while smoking or near open flames.
Hyundai . How to Replace the Fuel Filter on a '97 Mercury SableThe Mercury Sable uses two devices for separating impurities from the fuel. The first one is a strainer attached to the fuel pump. The fuel pump sucks fuel through the strainer so it can separate the debris and sediments from the fuel. The second is an in-line fuel filter. The debris that gets past the strainer is collected by the filter. You should replace the filter every 30,000 miles. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Socket set Socket wrench Small drain pan New fuel filter Jack Jack stands Step by Step : 1 Open the hood to access the engine compartment. Locate the fuse panel by the battery. Unsnap the top of the panel and locate the fuel pump fuse. The fuse box will be labeled. Pull the fuse with your fingers. Put the fuse in a safe place. 2 Start the car and allow it to idle until the engine stalls it out. This relieves the pressure in the fuel line. Turn the ignition key off and disconnect the negative (black) battery cable. 3 Place wheel chocks in front of the front wheels. Raise the rear of the car up with the jack and support it on jack stands placed under the pinch-weld jacking points. Remove the jack. Locate the fuel filter underneath the car. Trace the fuel line from the fuel tank to the front of the passenger side rear wheel well. The filter is clamped to the frame. 4 Place the drain pan underneath the filter. Disconnect both of the fuel lines from the filter by pulling the tabs on the connectors with a flathead screwdriver and pulling the line off and away from the filter. The filter will still be full of fuel, so expect some fuel to drip. 5 Unbolt the clamp holding the filter on with a socket wrench. Pull the clamp down and slide the filter out of the clamp. Put the old filter in the drain pan. 6 Place the new filter in to the clamp. Bolt the clamp to the frame with a socket wrench. Ensure the arrow on the filter is pointing toward the engine compartment. The arrow designates fuel flow. 7 Push the fuel line coming from the fuel tank on to the back of the filter. The line will lock in place once it is far enough on the filter. Attach the outlet line to the filter. Ensure that both lines are locked in place. 8 Lower the car to the ground. Insert the fuel pump fuse back into the fuse panel. Reconnect the negative battery cable. 9 Turn the ignition to the "start" position. This will activate the fuel pump. The fuel pump will run for five seconds and then shut down. Attempt to start the car. The car may not start right away as there may be air caught in the fuel line. Step by Step : 10 Allow the car to idle for five minutes. Visually check the fuel filter for leaks. Tips & Warnings Use caution when working around fuel. Gasoline is very toxic and flammable. *Sometimes you can cure a problem — such as carbon-fouled plugs — by going to a hotter- or cooler-burning plug. You can identify these by the plug number. The higher the number, the hotter the plug. Never go more than one step hotter or cooler at a time. If your plugs indicate that something is seriously wrong with the way your engine is running, ask a professional mechanic for an opinion. If you're told that it requires extensive or expensive work, get a second opinion at another service facility without telling the technicians that you went to the first place. This is a good policy to follow whenever major repair work is suggested. We wisely get second opinions when doctors tell us we need major surgery; why not give your vehicle the same thorough attention before incurring a major expense? . Adjusting the distance between the two electrodes is called gapping your spark plugs. Gap new as well as old spark plugs, even if the package says that the new plugs are "pre-gapped." To avoid problems, work on only one plug at a time, in cylinder sequence order. The following steps explain how to gap your spark plugs: 1. If you're regapping a used plug, make sure that it's clean. If you're using a new plug, it should be clean and new-looking, with the tip of the side electrode centered over the center electrode. There should be no cracks or bubbles in the porcelain insulator, and the threads should be unbroken. 2. Take your feeler gauge, select the proper wire, and run it between the electrodes (see Figure 12-12). If the wire doesn't go through or if it goes through too easily, without touching the electrodes, you need to adjust the distance between the electrodes. Figure 12-12: Gapping a plug with a wire gauge. Hyundai . How do you remove your name from a car title that has been sent to a junk yard?
Most states Have a change of ownership form you can send in. This notifies the state that you sold your automobile. Another thing... Ford F150 (Heritage) Regular Cab. * 3. Adjust the gap as necessary. If the wire didn't go through, the gap is too narrow. Hook the part of the feeler gauge that is used for bending electrodes under the side electrode and tug very gently to widen the gap. If the wire goes through too easily, without touching the electrodes, the gap is wide. Press the side electrode against a clean, mar-proof surface, very gently, until it's slightly bent down toward the center electrode. 00 A Part III: Keeping Your Car in Good Condition, System by System 4. Run the gauge through the gap again. 5. Repeat Steps 3 and 4 until the gap is just right. Hyundai . How do you replace a auto-transmission pump?

If you keep getting the gap too narrow or too wide, don't feel bad. Everyone I know goes through the "too large-too small-too large" bit a couple of times for each plug, especially the perfectionists. After you're done gapping your spark plug, it's time to insert it in the engine. The next section has the details. Installing a spark ptuq To insert a spark plug into the engine, follow these steps: 1. Clean the spark plug hole in the cylinder block with a clean, lint-free cloth. Wipe away from the hole; don't shove any dirt into it. 2. Lightly coat the threads of the spark plug with anti-seize compound, being careful not to get any on the center or side electrodes. Hyundai .
